Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control A Module Performance
No conducir — requiere atención inmediata
Descripción
This code means the engine's computer has detected a performance issue with the system that controls the boost pressure for the turbocharger or supercharger. The system isn't able to build or maintain the correct boost level.
Causas comunes
- Faulty turbocharger or supercharger wastegate actuator
- Boost leak in the intake or exhaust system
- Problem with the boost control solenoid
- Clogged turbocharger or supercharger
- Faulty engine control module (ECM)
- Vacuum hose leak
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Significant loss of engine power, especially under acceleration
- Whining or hissing noise from the engine bay
- Poor acceleration
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Check for vacuum hose leaks by visually inspecting all vacuum lines connected to the turbo/supercharger boost control system and replace any cracked or disconnected hoses.
- 2 Inspect the intake system for boost leaks, including intercooler piping, clamps, and couplers — tighten or replace any loose or damaged connections.
- 3 Check the boost control solenoid for proper operation by testing its electrical connector, wiring, and verifying it actuates when commanded — replace if faulty.
- 4 Inspect the exhaust system for leaks near the turbocharger/supercharger, as exhaust leaks can affect boost pressure readings and wastegate operation.
- 5 Inspect the wastegate actuator for proper movement and operation — ensure it holds vacuum/pressure and moves freely without binding, and replace if stuck or damaged.
- 6 Inspect the turbocharger or supercharger for signs of clogging, excessive shaft play, or damaged compressor/turbine wheels — replace or rebuild if necessary.
- 7 Have the engine control module (ECM) tested for proper boost control output signals and updated to the latest software calibration — replace the ECM if confirmed faulty.
