Radiator Coolant Temperature/Engine Coolant Temperature Correlation
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code means the car's computer has found a mismatch between the radiator coolant temperature sensor reading and the engine coolant temperature sensor reading. These two sensors should normally report similar temperatures, and a significant difference indicates a problem.
Causas comunes
- Faulty radiator coolant temperature sensor
- Faulty engine coolant temperature sensor
- Low coolant level
- Air in the cooling system
- Thermostat issue
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Inaccurate temperature gauge readings
- Poor engine performance
- Reduced fuel efficiency
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Check coolant level and top off if low, as insufficient coolant can cause inaccurate temperature readings between the two sensors.
- 2 Inspect the cooling system for air pockets and bleed the system if necessary to ensure accurate temperature readings.
- 3 Inspect the wiring and connectors at both the radiator coolant temperature sensor and the engine coolant temperature sensor for damage, corrosion, or loose connections.
- 4 Check the thermostat for proper operation by monitoring coolant temperatures during warm-up; replace the thermostat if it is stuck open or closed.
- 5 Replace the radiator coolant temperature sensor if its readings are out of range or inconsistent with actual coolant temperature.
- 6 Replace the engine coolant temperature sensor if its readings are out of range or do not correlate with the radiator coolant temperature sensor.
- 7 If both sensors and the thermostat test within specification, inspect the cooling system for blockages or restrictions that could cause uneven coolant temperatures between the radiator and engine.
