MAP - Mass or Volume Air Flow Correlation Bank 2
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code is specific to engines with two banks of cylinders (like V6 or V8 engines) and indicates a problem with the correlation between the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor and the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor on Bank 2. These sensors work together to measure the amount of air entering the engine.
Causas comunes
- Faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor on Bank 2
- Faulty Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor on Bank 2
- Vacuum leak on Bank 2
- Clogged air filter
- Problem with the engine control module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Rough idle
- Poor engine performance
- Reduced fuel economy
- Engine misfires
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Check and replace the air filter if it is dirty or clogged, as a restricted air filter can cause incorrect airflow readings.
- 2 Inspect the air intake ducting and hoses on Bank 2 for cracks, loose clamps, or disconnections that could cause unmetered air to enter the engine.
- 3 Check for vacuum leaks on Bank 2 by inspecting vacuum hoses, intake manifold gaskets, and PCV valve connections for cracks or loose fittings.
- 4 Inspect the MAF sensor on Bank 2 and clean it using MAF-specific cleaner spray; do not touch the sensing element directly.
- 5 Check the MAP sensor on Bank 2 and its vacuum hose for damage, blockage, or disconnection; clean or replace the sensor if faulty.
- 6 Replace the MAF sensor on Bank 2 if cleaning does not resolve the issue and sensor readings are out of specification.
- 7 Replace the MAP sensor on Bank 2 if its readings do not match expected values at idle and under load.
- 8 If all sensors and intake components test normal, have the engine control module (ECM) inspected and reprogrammed or replaced by a professional.
