Mass or Volume Air Flow A Circuit Range/Performance - Air Flow Too Low
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code means the car's computer is not getting accurate readings from the mass air flow sensor, and it thinks too little air is entering the engine. This can affect how the engine runs and its fuel efficiency.
Causas comunes
- Dirty or faulty mass air flow sensor
- Air intake leak (vacuum leak)
- Clogged air filter
- Wiring issue to the mass air flow sensor
- Problem with the engine control module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Poor fuel economy
- Rough idling
- Engine hesitation
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Check and replace the engine air filter if it is dirty or clogged, as a restricted filter can limit airflow readings.
- 2 Inspect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor for dirt or contamination and clean it using MAF-specific sensor cleaner spray.
- 3 Inspect the air intake ducting and hoses between the air filter box and throttle body for cracks, loose clamps, or disconnected sections that could cause air leaks.
- 4 Check the wiring harness and electrical connector at the MAF sensor for damaged pins, corrosion, loose connections, or chafed wires.
- 5 Test the MAF sensor output using a scan tool to verify readings match expected values at idle and under load; replace the MAF sensor if readings are out of range.
- 6 Perform a smoke test on the intake system to identify any hidden vacuum leaks that could affect airflow measurement.
- 7 If all other components test normal, have the engine control module (ECM) inspected and reprogrammed or replaced by a qualified technician.
