Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit B High
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code means the ambient air temperature sensor 'B' is reading a temperature that is too high. The car's computer thinks the outside air is hotter than it really is.
Causas comunes
- Faulty ambient air temperature sensor 'B'
- Wiring issue to the ambient air temperature sensor 'B'
- Sensor is located near a heat source
- Problem with the engine control module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine light is on
- Inaccurate outside temperature display
- Engine may run lean (too little fuel)
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Check the ambient air temperature sensor 'B' location for proximity to heat sources such as exhaust components, radiator, or other hot engine parts, and relocate or shield the sensor if necessary.
- 2 Inspect the wiring and connector to the ambient air temperature sensor 'B' for damage, corrosion, loose pins, or broken wires, and repair as needed.
- 3 Test the ambient air temperature sensor 'B' circuit with a multimeter to check for high resistance or an open circuit, which would cause a high voltage reading.
- 4 Replace the ambient air temperature sensor 'B' if testing confirms it is reading out of range or has failed.
- 5 Clear the diagnostic trouble code and test drive the vehicle to verify the repair and ensure the code does not return.
- 6 If the code persists after sensor and wiring repairs, have the engine control module (ECM) inspected and tested for internal faults by a qualified technician.
