Intake Air Temperature/Fuel Temperature Correlation
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code suggests a discrepancy between the temperature readings of the air entering the engine and the fuel. The engine's computer expects these temperatures to be related in a certain way, and they are not.
Causas comunes
- Faulty intake air temperature sensor
- Faulty fuel temperature sensor
- Wiring issues to either sensor
- Air intake restriction or leak
- Problem with the engine control module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Poor engine performance
- Rough idling
- Decreased fuel economy
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Check for any loose or corroded connectors at both the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor and the fuel temperature sensor, cleaning and reseating as needed.
- 2 Inspect the air intake system for restrictions (clogged air filter) or leaks (cracked hoses, loose clamps) that could affect IAT readings.
- 3 Check the wiring harness between the IAT sensor and the ECM for damaged, chafed, or shorted wires, and repair as needed.
- 4 Check the wiring harness between the fuel temperature sensor and the ECM for damaged, chafed, or shorted wires, and repair as needed.
- 5 Test the intake air temperature sensor with a multimeter to verify proper resistance values, and replace if out of specification.
- 6 Test the fuel temperature sensor with a multimeter to verify proper resistance values, and replace if out of specification.
- 7 Replace the intake air temperature sensor if readings are inconsistent or out of range.
- 8 Replace the fuel temperature sensor if readings are inconsistent or out of range.
- 9 If all sensors and wiring test normal, have the engine control module (ECM) inspected and reprogrammed or replaced by a qualified technician.
