Intake Air Temperature Sensor 3 Circuit Range/Performance Bank 1
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code means the third intake air temperature sensor on bank 1 (one side of a V-engine) is reporting a temperature that is outside of its expected range or is not changing as it should. The sensor's readings are illogical.
Causas comunes
- Faulty intake air temperature sensor 3 on bank 1
- Wiring issue to the sensor
- Air intake leak
- Problem with the engine control module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Reduced engine power
- Poor fuel economy
- Rough idling
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Check for air intake leaks by inspecting all intake hoses, clamps, and connections on bank 1 for cracks, loose fittings, or disconnected ducts.
- 2 Inspect the wiring and connector at the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor 3 on bank 1 for damage, corrosion, loose pins, or chafing.
- 3 Clean the intake air temperature sensor 3 with electronic cleaner to remove any oil, dirt, or debris that may affect its readings.
- 4 Test the intake air temperature sensor 3 readings using an OBD-II scan tool and compare to ambient temperature on a cold start — readings should be close to actual ambient temperature.
- 5 Check the voltage and resistance of the IAT sensor 3 using a multimeter and compare to manufacturer specifications to confirm the sensor is within range.
- 6 Replace the intake air temperature sensor 3 on bank 1 if readings are out of specification or erratic.
- 7 Repair or replace any damaged wiring or connectors in the IAT sensor 3 circuit if faults are found during inspection.
- 8 Have the engine control module (ECM) inspected and tested by a professional if all sensor and wiring checks pass, as a faulty ECM may be causing incorrect signal interpretation.
