Intake Air Temperature Sensor 3 Circuit Low Bank 1
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code indicates that the third intake air temperature sensor on bank 1 (one side of a V-engine) is reporting a temperature that is too low. The engine's computer is not getting a valid reading from this sensor.
Causas comunes
- Faulty intake air temperature sensor 3 on bank 1
- Wiring short to ground
- Loose electrical connection
- Problem with the engine control module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Reduced engine power
- Poor fuel economy
- Engine may run rich (too much fuel)
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Inspect the electrical connector at intake air temperature (IAT) sensor 3 on bank 1 for looseness, corrosion, or damage, and reseat the connection firmly.
- 2 Check the wiring harness between the IAT sensor 3 and the ECM for signs of chafing, bare wires, or shorts to ground, and repair any damaged sections.
- 3 Test the IAT sensor 3 circuit voltage and ground signal at the connector using a multimeter to confirm the circuit is reading abnormally low.
- 4 Replace the intake air temperature sensor 3 on bank 1 if the sensor is found to be faulty or reading out of specification.
- 5 Inspect and test the ECM connector pins for the IAT sensor 3 circuit to ensure there is no corrosion or bent pins causing a false low signal.
- 6 Replace or reprogram the engine control module (ECM) if all wiring and sensor tests pass and the code persists.
