Intake Air Temperature Sensor 3 Circuit High Bank 1
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code means the third intake air temperature sensor on bank 1 (one side of a V-engine) is reporting a temperature that is too high. The engine's computer is not receiving a valid reading from this sensor.
Causas comunes
- Faulty intake air temperature sensor 3 on bank 1
- Wiring short to voltage
- Loose electrical connection
- Problem with the engine control module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Reduced engine power
- Poor fuel economy
- Engine may run lean (too little fuel)
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Inspect the electrical connector at intake air temperature (IAT) sensor 3 on bank 1 for looseness, corrosion, or damaged pins, and clean or reseat as needed.
- 2 Check the wiring harness between the IAT sensor 3 and the ECM for signs of chafing, melting, or a short to voltage (battery or ignition power wires nearby).
- 3 Measure the voltage and resistance at the IAT sensor 3 connector using a multimeter; a circuit-high code typically indicates an open circuit or short to voltage, so verify readings match manufacturer specifications.
- 4 Inspect the IAT sensor 3 ground circuit for continuity back to the ECM to rule out a broken or corroded ground wire.
- 5 Replace the intake air temperature sensor 3 on bank 1 if sensor readings are out of range or the sensor fails resistance testing.
- 6 Repair or replace any damaged wiring or connectors found in the IAT sensor 3 circuit that may be causing a short to voltage.
- 7 Have the engine control module (ECM) tested and, if confirmed faulty, reprogram or replace it as a last resort.
