Fuel System Leak Detected - Small Leak
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code suggests a small leak has been detected in the fuel system. While not as severe as a large leak, it still means fuel is escaping and can affect performance and safety.
Causas comunes
- Leaking fuel injector
- Damaged fuel line or hose
- Leaking fuel pressure regulator
- Loose or damaged fuel cap
- Faulty fuel pump seal
Síntomas
- Slightly reduced engine power
- Check Engine Light is on
- Occasional rough idle
- Slight smell of gasoline
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Check the fuel cap for damage, cracks, or improper sealing and tighten or replace it if necessary.
- 2 Inspect all visible fuel lines and hoses in the engine bay for cracks, wet spots, or signs of fuel seepage.
- 3 Check the fuel injector seals and O-rings for signs of leaking or fuel residue around the injector connections.
- 4 Inspect the fuel pressure regulator for leaks by checking for fuel in the vacuum line or wetness around its housing.
- 5 Test the fuel system pressure with a fuel pressure gauge to identify pressure drop indicating a leak location.
- 6 Replace any damaged fuel lines, hoses, or clamps that show signs of deterioration or leaking.
- 7 Replace leaking fuel injector O-rings or the fuel injector itself if the seal cannot hold pressure.
- 8 Replace the fuel pump seal if the leak is traced to the fuel pump assembly or its connections.
