Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit Low
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code indicates that the second Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is sending a signal that is too low. This suggests a problem with the sensor itself or its electrical connection.
Causas comunes
- Faulty Intake Air Temperature sensor 2
- Wiring issue to the IAT sensor 2 (short to ground)
- Loose electrical connector at the IAT sensor 2
- Problem with the engine control module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Engine may run rich (too much fuel)
- Reduced engine power
- Poor fuel economy
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Inspect the electrical connector at the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor 2 for looseness, corrosion, or damage, and reseat it firmly.
- 2 Check the wiring harness between the IAT sensor 2 and the ECM for signs of chafing, bare wires, or a short to ground, and repair as needed.
- 3 Test the IAT sensor 2 circuit voltage and ground signal using a multimeter to confirm a low-voltage condition.
- 4 Check the IAT sensor 2 resistance values against manufacturer specifications to determine if the sensor has failed internally.
- 5 Replace the faulty Intake Air Temperature sensor 2 if resistance or voltage readings are out of specification.
- 6 Repair or replace any damaged wiring or connectors in the IAT sensor 2 circuit if a short to ground is found.
- 7 Have the engine control module (ECM) tested and reprogrammed or replaced if all sensor and wiring checks pass but the code persists.
