Intake Air Temperature/Ambient Air Temperature Correlation
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code means the car's computer has found a significant difference between the readings from the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor and the Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) sensor. These sensors should normally report similar values.
Causas comunes
- Faulty Intake Air Temperature sensor
- Faulty Ambient Air Temperature sensor
- Wiring issue to either sensor
- Air intake system obstruction or leak
- Problem with the engine control module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Reduced engine performance
- Poor fuel economy
- Engine may run rough or hesitate
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Check for any obvious obstructions or leaks in the air intake system (e.g., disconnected hoses, clogged air filter, or debris blocking airflow).
- 2 Inspect the wiring and connectors to the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor for damage, corrosion, or loose connections.
- 3 Inspect the wiring and connectors to the Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) sensor for damage, corrosion, or loose connections.
- 4 Compare live data readings from both the IAT and AAT sensors using an OBD-II scanner with the engine cold — both should read within a few degrees of actual ambient temperature.
- 5 Replace the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor if its reading is significantly off from the actual ambient temperature.
- 6 Replace the Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) sensor if its reading is significantly off from the actual ambient temperature.
- 7 Repair or replace any damaged wiring or connectors found in the IAT or AAT sensor circuits.
- 8 If all sensors and wiring test normal, have the Engine Control Module (ECM) inspected and reprogrammed or replaced by a professional.
