Powertrain · Alimentación de combustible y aire

No conducir — requiere atención inmediata

Descripción

This code means there's a problem with the electrical circuit for the throttle position sensor 'A'. This sensor tells the car's computer how far you're pressing the gas pedal.

Causas comunes

  • Faulty throttle position sensor
  • Wiring issues to the throttle position sensor
  • Problem with the throttle body
  • Issue with the accelerator pedal position sensor (if separate)
  • Corrosion in electrical connectors

Síntomas

  • Check Engine Light is on
  • Hesitation or stumbling during acceleration
  • Engine may not accelerate properly
  • Stalling

Pasos de reparación

  1. 1 Inspect the electrical connectors at the throttle position sensor (TPS) and accelerator pedal position sensor for corrosion, looseness, or damage, and clean or reseat them as needed.
  2. 2 Check the wiring harness between the TPS and the ECM for frayed, broken, or shorted wires, and repair any damaged sections.
  3. 3 Test the throttle position sensor voltage output using a multimeter to verify it provides a smooth, linear signal through its full range of motion (typically 0.5V at closed to 4.5V at wide open throttle).
  4. 4 Inspect the throttle body for carbon buildup, sticking, or mechanical damage, and clean it thoroughly with throttle body cleaner.
  5. 5 Test the accelerator pedal position sensor (if equipped as a separate unit) for proper voltage output and smooth signal transition.
  6. 6 Replace the throttle position sensor if testing reveals erratic, dead spots, or out-of-range voltage readings.
  7. 7 Replace the accelerator pedal position sensor if it is faulty and separate from the TPS.
  8. 8 Replace the throttle body assembly if the sensor is integrated and cannot be replaced separately, or if the throttle body itself is mechanically faulty.
