Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch 'A' Circuit Intermittent

Powertrain · Alimentación de combustible y aire

Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución

Descripción

This code means the throttle position sensor 'A' is sending erratic or intermittent signals. The computer is detecting problems with the sensor's readings that come and go.

Causas comunes

  • Faulty throttle position sensor
  • Intermittent wiring or connector issue
  • Problem with the accelerator pedal position sensor (if separate)
  • Loose connections
  • Corrosion in electrical connectors

Síntomas

  • Check Engine Light may flicker on and off
  • Hesitation or stumbling during acceleration
  • Stalling
  • Erratic engine performance

Pasos de reparación

  1. 1 Inspect the throttle position sensor (TPS) wiring harness and connector for loose, damaged, or corroded pins and repair as needed.
  2. 2 Check the accelerator pedal position sensor (APP) connector for looseness or corrosion and clean or reseat the connection.
  3. 3 Wiggle-test the TPS and APP sensor connectors and wiring while monitoring live data to identify intermittent signal dropouts.
  4. 4 Clean the throttle body and TPS connector contacts with electrical contact cleaner to remove any corrosion or debris.
  5. 5 Check the TPS signal voltage with a multimeter or scan tool while slowly opening the throttle — look for sudden dropouts or erratic readings.
  6. 6 Inspect the wiring between the TPS, APP sensor, and the ECM for chafing, bare spots, or broken wires, and repair as needed.
  7. 7 Replace the throttle position sensor (TPS) if signal is erratic or drops out intermittently during testing.
  8. 8 Replace the accelerator pedal position sensor (APP) if the TPS tests normal and the intermittent fault persists.
