O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code means the engine computer is not detecting any activity from the oxygen sensor located in Bank 1, Sensor 2. This sensor's job is to measure the amount of oxygen in the exhaust to help control fuel mixture, and no readings means it's not working.
Causas comunes
- Faulty oxygen sensor (Bank 1, Sensor 2)
- Wiring issue to the oxygen sensor
- Exhaust leak before or near the oxygen sensor
- Problem with the engine control module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Reduced fuel economy
- Failed emissions test
- Engine may run poorly
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Check the wiring and connector to the Bank 1, Sensor 2 (downstream) oxygen sensor for damage, corrosion, or loose connections and repair as needed.
- 2 Inspect the exhaust system near the downstream oxygen sensor for exhaust leaks, cracks, or loose fittings and repair any leaks found.
- 3 Use a scan tool to monitor the Bank 1, Sensor 2 oxygen sensor voltage readings; a stuck or flatlined signal (typically around 0.45V) confirms a faulty sensor.
- 4 Check the oxygen sensor wiring harness for shorts, open circuits, or chafing against exhaust components using a multimeter.
- 5 Replace the Bank 1, Sensor 2 (downstream) oxygen sensor if it shows no activity or a fixed voltage reading.
- 6 Clear the diagnostic trouble codes and drive the vehicle through a complete drive cycle to verify the repair.
- 7 If the code returns after replacing the sensor and verifying wiring, have the engine control module (ECM) inspected and tested by a professional.
