O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code means the engine computer is reading a voltage that is too low from the oxygen sensor in Bank 1, Sensor 2. This low voltage signal suggests the sensor is not functioning correctly in measuring the oxygen content of the exhaust.
Causas comunes
- Faulty oxygen sensor (Bank 1, Sensor 2)
- Wiring issue to the oxygen sensor (high resistance)
- Exhaust leak before or near the oxygen sensor
- Contaminated oxygen sensor
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Reduced fuel economy
- Failed emissions test
- Engine may run rich (too much fuel)
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Check the wiring and connector to the Bank 1, Sensor 2 oxygen sensor for damage, corrosion, or loose connections and repair as needed.
- 2 Inspect the exhaust system for leaks near or upstream of the Bank 1, Sensor 2 oxygen sensor, paying attention to gaskets, pipe joints, and cracks.
- 3 Clean the oxygen sensor connector terminals to remove any corrosion and ensure a solid electrical connection.
- 4 Test the oxygen sensor wiring harness for high resistance using a multimeter and repair or replace damaged wires.
- 5 Inspect the oxygen sensor for contamination from oil, coolant, or excessive carbon buildup.
- 6 Replace the Bank 1, Sensor 2 (downstream) oxygen sensor if it is faulty or contaminated.
- 7 Clear the diagnostic trouble codes and drive the vehicle to confirm the repair resolved the issue.
