O2 Sensor Delayed Response - Lean to Rich Bank 2 Sensor 2
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code indicates that the oxygen sensor in Bank 2, Sensor 2 is slow to respond when switching from a lean fuel mixture to a rich one. This sensor's job is to help the engine run efficiently and cleanly.
Causas comunes
- Faulty oxygen sensor (Bank 2, Sensor 2)
- Exhaust leak before the oxygen sensor
- Contaminated oxygen sensor
- Wiring issue to the oxygen sensor
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Reduced fuel economy
- Increased emissions
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Check the wiring and connector to the Bank 2, Sensor 2 oxygen sensor for damage, corrosion, or loose connections and repair as needed.
- 2 Inspect the exhaust system for leaks between the catalytic converter and the Bank 2, Sensor 2 oxygen sensor, paying attention to gaskets, welds, and pipe joints.
- 3 Clear the diagnostic trouble code and drive the vehicle to see if the code returns, as the issue may have been intermittent.
- 4 Inspect the Bank 2, Sensor 2 oxygen sensor for contamination from oil, coolant, or carbon buildup that may cause a delayed response.
- 5 Use a scan tool to monitor the Bank 2, Sensor 2 oxygen sensor live data and verify its response time during lean-to-rich transitions.
- 6 Replace the Bank 2, Sensor 2 oxygen sensor if it shows a delayed response or if wiring and exhaust leaks have been ruled out.
- 7 Repair any exhaust leaks found upstream of the Bank 2, Sensor 2 oxygen sensor, including replacing gaskets or welding cracked pipes.
