O2 Sensor Slow Response - Lean to Rich Bank 2 Sensor 1
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code indicates that the oxygen sensor in Bank 2, Sensor 1 is slow to respond when switching from a lean fuel mixture to a rich one. This sensor helps the engine computer manage fuel and emissions.
Causas comunes
- Faulty oxygen sensor (Bank 2, Sensor 1)
- Exhaust leak before the oxygen sensor
- Contaminated oxygen sensor
- Wiring issue to the oxygen sensor
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Reduced fuel economy
- Increased emissions
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Inspect the wiring and connector for the Bank 2, Sensor 1 oxygen sensor for damage, corrosion, or loose connections and repair as needed.
- 2 Check for exhaust leaks between the engine and the Bank 2, Sensor 1 oxygen sensor location by visually inspecting gaskets, manifold cracks, and pipe connections.
- 3 Remove the Bank 2, Sensor 1 oxygen sensor and inspect it for contamination such as oil fouling, carbon buildup, or coolant residue that could slow its response.
- 4 Clear the diagnostic trouble code and test drive the vehicle to see if the code returns, confirming the issue is persistent.
- 5 Replace the Bank 2, Sensor 1 oxygen sensor with an OEM or quality aftermarket unit.
- 6 If the code persists after sensor replacement, repair any confirmed exhaust leaks at the manifold or exhaust pipe connections upstream of the sensor.
