Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This is a general code indicating a problem with the oxygen sensor circuit for Bank 2, Sensor 2. This sensor monitors the exhaust after the catalytic converter and helps the computer assess its efficiency.
Causas comunes
- Faulty oxygen sensor
- Wiring issue to the oxygen sensor
- Exhaust leak
- Problem with the catalytic converter
- Problem with the engine control module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Increased emissions
- Reduced fuel economy
- Potential catalytic converter issues
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Inspect the wiring and connector to the Bank 2 Sensor 2 oxygen sensor for damage, corrosion, or loose connections and repair as needed.
- 2 Check for exhaust leaks near the catalytic converter and downstream O2 sensor area, and repair any leaks found.
- 3 Test the oxygen sensor voltage and response time using a scan tool to confirm the sensor is functioning properly.
- 4 Replace the Bank 2 Sensor 2 oxygen sensor if it is not responding correctly or readings are out of range.
- 5 Inspect the catalytic converter for damage, clogging, or internal failure and replace if necessary.
- 6 Have the engine control module (ECM) tested by a professional for proper operation and replace if all other causes have been ruled out.
