O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage

Powertrain · Alimentación de combustible y aire

Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución

Descripción

This code means the oxygen sensor in your exhaust is sending a signal that's too low. This sensor helps your car's computer figure out how much fuel to use, and a low signal can lead to the engine getting too much fuel.

Causas comunes

  • Faulty oxygen sensor
  • Wiring issue to the oxygen sensor
  • Exhaust leak
  • Problem with the engine control module (ECM)

Síntomas

  • Check Engine Light is on
  • Reduced fuel economy
  • Engine may run rich (too much fuel)
  • Black smoke from exhaust

Pasos de reparación

  1. 1 Inspect the wiring and connector to the Bank 2 Sensor 2 oxygen sensor for damage, corrosion, or loose connections and repair as needed.
  2. 2 Check for exhaust leaks near the catalytic converter and downstream O2 sensor area, and repair any leaks found.
  3. 3 Measure the O2 sensor voltage output using a multimeter or scan tool to confirm the sensor is stuck at low voltage.
  4. 4 Test the O2 sensor heater circuit and ground wire for proper continuity and voltage supply.
  5. 5 Replace the Bank 2 Sensor 2 (downstream) oxygen sensor if it is confirmed faulty.
  6. 6 Clear the code and test drive the vehicle to verify the repair holds.
  7. 7 Have the engine control module (ECM) inspected and tested by a professional if the issue persists after all other repairs.
