O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code means the oxygen sensor in your exhaust is sending a signal that's too high. This sensor helps your car's computer figure out how much fuel to use, and a high signal can lead to the engine running lean (too little fuel).
Causas comunes
- Faulty oxygen sensor
- Wiring issue to the oxygen sensor
- Exhaust leak before the oxygen sensor
- Problem with the engine control module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Reduced fuel economy
- Rough idling
- Engine misfires
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Check the wiring and connector to the Bank 2 Sensor 2 oxygen sensor for damage, corrosion, or loose connections and repair as needed.
- 2 Inspect the exhaust system for leaks before the oxygen sensor, particularly at gaskets, welds, and pipe connections.
- 3 Test the oxygen sensor voltage output with a multimeter or scan tool to verify it is stuck high (above 0.9V) and not switching normally.
- 4 Check for related trouble codes that may indicate a rich fuel condition causing the high voltage reading.
- 5 Replace the Bank 2 Sensor 2 (downstream) oxygen sensor if it is confirmed faulty or stuck at high voltage.
- 6 Inspect the oxygen sensor wiring harness for short circuits to voltage, especially where it routes near hot exhaust components.
- 7 Have the engine control module (ECM) tested and reprogrammed or replaced if all other causes have been ruled out.
