O2 Sensor Delayed Response - Rich to Lean Bank 1 Sensor 1
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code means the oxygen sensor is slow to switch from a rich (too much fuel) to a lean (too little fuel) mixture on Bank 1. This sensor helps the engine computer maintain the correct air-fuel balance.
Causas comunes
- Faulty oxygen sensor
- Exhaust leak
- Vacuum leak
- Contaminated fuel
- Problem with the engine control module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Reduced fuel economy
- Rough idling
- Increased emissions
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Check for vacuum leaks by inspecting all vacuum hoses, intake manifold gaskets, and PCV valve connections for cracks or loose fittings.
- 2 Inspect the exhaust system near the exhaust manifold and downpipe for leaks, cracks, or loose connections that could affect the O2 sensor reading.
- 3 Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector for the Bank 1 Sensor 1 O2 sensor for damage, corrosion, or loose pins.
- 4 Check fuel quality by adding fresh, high-quality fuel and a fuel system cleaner to rule out contaminated fuel.
- 5 Monitor O2 sensor live data with a scan tool to verify the sensor's response time and switching behavior from rich to lean.
- 6 Replace the Bank 1 Sensor 1 oxygen sensor if response time is slow or the sensor fails to switch properly.
- 7 Have a professional diagnose the engine control module (ECM) if the issue persists after replacing the O2 sensor and ruling out all other causes.
