Mass or Volume Air Flow Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code indicates that the 'B' Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor is not performing as expected. The engine computer has detected that the air flow readings are outside of the normal operating range.
Causas comunes
- Dirty or faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor
- Vacuum leak
- Clogged air filter
- Wiring issue to the MAF sensor
- Problem with the Engine Control Module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine light is on
- Rough idling
- Poor acceleration
- Engine stalling
- Reduced fuel economy
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Check and replace the air filter if it is dirty or clogged, as restricted airflow can cause incorrect MAF sensor readings.
- 2 Inspect the MAF sensor for dirt or debris buildup and clean it using a dedicated MAF sensor cleaner spray — do not use carburetor cleaner or compressed air.
- 3 Inspect the air intake duct and boot between the air filter box and throttle body for cracks, loose clamps, or disconnections that could cause vacuum leaks.
- 4 Check all vacuum hoses and connections for cracks, splits, or disconnections and repair or replace any damaged hoses.
- 5 Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector at the MAF sensor B for damaged, corroded, or loose pins and repair as needed.
- 6 Test the MAF sensor B output using a scan tool to verify readings are within the manufacturer's specified range at idle and under load — replace the MAF sensor if readings are out of specification.
- 7 Have a professional diagnose the Engine Control Module (ECM) if all other components test normal, as a faulty ECM may require reprogramming or replacement.
