Mass or Volume Air Flow Sensor B Circuit High

Powertrain · Alimentación de combustible y aire

Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución

Descripción

This code indicates that the 'B' Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor is reporting a signal that is too high. The engine computer is receiving too much information about the incoming air.

Causas comunes

  • Dirty or faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor
  • Wiring issue to the MAF sensor
  • Air intake restriction
  • Problem with the Engine Control Module (ECM)

Síntomas

  • Check Engine light is on
  • Rough idling
  • Poor acceleration
  • Engine may run rich (too much fuel)
  • Reduced fuel economy

Pasos de reparación

  1. 1 Inspect the air intake system for restrictions, clogged air filter, or debris blocking airflow and replace the air filter if dirty.
  2. 2 Clean the MAF sensor B using a dedicated MAF sensor cleaner spray — do not touch the sensor element with anything else.
  3. 3 Inspect the MAF sensor B wiring harness and electrical connector for damage, corrosion, loose pins, or disconnected wires and repair as needed.
  4. 4 Check for vacuum leaks or cracked intake ducts between the MAF sensor and the throttle body and replace any damaged components.
  5. 5 Test the MAF sensor B signal voltage and frequency using a multimeter or scan tool to verify it is reading within manufacturer specifications.
  6. 6 Replace the MAF sensor B if readings are out of range or cleaning did not resolve the issue.
  7. 7 Inspect and test the ECM for proper operation if all other components check out — replace or reprogram the ECM if confirmed faulty.
