Mass or Volume Air Flow Sensor B Circuit Intermittent/Erratic
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code means the 'B' Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor is sending erratic or inconsistent signals. The readings are fluctuating unexpectedly, making it hard for the engine computer to manage the fuel mixture.
Causas comunes
- Dirty or faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor
- Loose or corroded electrical connector at the MAF sensor
- Wiring issue to the MAF sensor
- Vacuum leak
- Problem with the Engine Control Module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine light is on
- Intermittent rough idling
- Hesitation during acceleration
- Engine may stall unexpectedly
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Check and clean the MAF sensor B electrical connector for looseness, corrosion, or debris, and reseat it firmly.
- 2 Inspect the wiring harness running to the MAF sensor B for chafing, broken wires, or damaged insulation that could cause intermittent contact.
- 3 Clean the MAF sensor B element using a dedicated MAF sensor cleaner spray — do not touch the sensor element with anything else.
- 4 Check for vacuum leaks by inspecting the air intake boot, hoses, and clamps between the air filter box and the throttle body for cracks or loose connections.
- 5 Replace the MAF sensor B if cleaning does not resolve the intermittent or erratic readings.
- 6 Have the Engine Control Module (ECM) tested and reprogrammed or replaced by a professional if all other causes have been ruled out.
