Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code means there's a problem with the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor circuit. This sensor tells the engine computer how cold or hot the air entering the engine is, which affects fuel delivery.
Causas comunes
- Faulty Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor
- Wiring issue to the IAT sensor
- Loose or corroded electrical connector
- Problem with the Engine Control Module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine light is on
- Rough idling
- Poor acceleration
- Reduced fuel economy
- Engine may run rich (too much fuel)
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Inspect the IAT sensor electrical connector for looseness, corrosion, or damage and clean or reseat it as needed.
- 2 Check the wiring harness between the IAT sensor and the ECM for fraying, breaks, or short circuits.
- 3 Test the IAT sensor resistance with a multimeter to verify it changes with temperature (typically 2,000–3,000 ohms at 68°F and decreasing as temperature rises).
- 4 Clear the diagnostic trouble code and test drive the vehicle to see if the code returns.
- 5 Replace the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor if resistance readings are out of specification.
- 6 Repair or replace any damaged wiring or connectors in the IAT sensor circuit.
- 7 Have the Engine Control Module (ECM) inspected and tested by a professional if all other components check out normal.
