Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit Low
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code means the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is reporting a signal that is too low. This could indicate a short circuit or a faulty sensor that is incorrectly reading a very cold temperature.
Causas comunes
- Faulty Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor
- Wiring issue to the IAT sensor (short to ground)
- Loose or corroded electrical connector
- Problem with the Engine Control Module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine light is on
- Rough idling
- Poor acceleration
- Reduced fuel economy
- Engine may run rich (too much fuel)
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Inspect the IAT sensor electrical connector for looseness, corrosion, or damage and clean or reseat it as needed.
- 2 Check the IAT sensor wiring harness for signs of damage, chafing, or a short to ground, and repair any damaged wires.
- 3 Test the IAT sensor resistance with a multimeter to verify it matches manufacturer specifications at the current ambient temperature.
- 4 Replace the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor if resistance readings are out of specification.
- 5 Check the IAT sensor signal voltage at the ECM connector to rule out wiring issues between the sensor and the module.
- 6 Inspect the ECM connector pins for corrosion or bent pins and repair as needed.
- 7 Have the Engine Control Module (ECM) tested and replaced if all sensor and wiring checks pass but the code persists.
