Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit Intermittent
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code indicates that the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is sending erratic or intermittent signals. The temperature readings are not stable, making it difficult for the engine computer to accurately adjust the fuel mixture.
Causas comunes
- Faulty Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor
- Loose or corroded electrical connector at the IAT sensor
- Wiring issue to the IAT sensor
- Problem with the Engine Control Module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine light is on
- Intermittent rough idling
- Hesitation during acceleration
- Engine may stall unexpectedly
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Inspect the electrical connector at the IAT sensor for looseness, corrosion, or damage, and clean or reseat it as needed.
- 2 Check the wiring harness between the IAT sensor and the ECM for chafing, fraying, broken wires, or exposed conductors, and repair as needed.
- 3 Test the IAT sensor with a multimeter to verify resistance values change smoothly with temperature; compare readings to manufacturer specifications.
- 4 Replace the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor if it is found to be faulty or readings are out of range.
- 5 Clear the diagnostic trouble code and test drive the vehicle to confirm the intermittent fault does not return.
- 6 If the code returns after replacing the sensor and verifying wiring, have the Engine Control Module (ECM) inspected and tested by a professional for internal faults.
