Charge Air Cooler Temperature/Intake Air Temperature Correlation Bank 2

Powertrain · Alimentación de combustible y aire

Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución

Descripción

Similar to P011C, this code also relates to turbocharged engines but specifically for Bank 2. It means there's an issue with how the charge air cooler temperature and intake air temperature are correlating on that specific bank of the engine.

Causas comunes

  • Faulty charge air cooler temperature sensor (Bank 2)
  • Faulty intake air temperature sensor (Bank 2)
  • Leaking charge air cooler (Bank 2)
  • Wiring issue in either sensor circuit (Bank 2)
  • Problem with the engine control module (ECM)

Síntomas

  • Check Engine Light is on
  • Reduced engine power
  • Poor acceleration
  • Increased turbo lag

Pasos de reparación

  1. 1 Check for related diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) that may point to a specific sensor or circuit issue on Bank 2.
  2. 2 Inspect the wiring and connectors for both the charge air cooler temperature sensor and the intake air temperature sensor on Bank 2 for damage, corrosion, or loose connections.
  3. 3 Check the charge air cooler (intercooler) piping and hoses on Bank 2 for leaks, cracks, or loose clamps that could allow pressurized air to escape.
  4. 4 Compare live data readings from the charge air cooler temperature sensor and the intake air temperature sensor on Bank 2 using an OBD-II scanner — with the engine cold, both should read close to ambient temperature.
  5. 5 Replace the charge air cooler temperature sensor on Bank 2 if its reading is out of range or does not match expected values.
  6. 6 Replace the intake air temperature sensor on Bank 2 if its reading is out of range or does not correlate with the charge air cooler temperature sensor.
  7. 7 Inspect the charge air cooler (intercooler) on Bank 2 for internal leaks or blockages and replace if damaged.
  8. 8 If all sensors, wiring, and the charge air cooler test normal, have the engine control module (ECM) inspected and reprogrammed or replaced by a qualified technician.
