O2 Sensor Circuit
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This is a general code indicating a problem with the oxygen (O2) sensor circuit in your exhaust system. This sensor helps monitor the amount of unburned oxygen in your exhaust to help the engine run efficiently.
Causas comunes
- Faulty oxygen (O2) sensor
- Wiring issue to the O2 sensor (short, open, or damaged)
- Exhaust leak before or near the O2 sensor
- Vacuum leak in the intake system
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Increased fuel consumption
- Rough idling
- Failed emissions test
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Inspect the O2 sensor wiring harness and connector for damage, corrosion, or loose connections and repair as needed.
- 2 Check for exhaust leaks near or upstream of the O2 sensor by visually inspecting exhaust manifold gaskets and pipe connections.
- 3 Inspect the intake system for vacuum leaks, including cracked hoses, loose clamps, and faulty gaskets.
- 4 Test the O2 sensor signal voltage and response time using a multimeter or scan tool to confirm sensor failure.
- 5 Replace the Bank 1, Sensor 1 oxygen (O2) sensor if testing confirms it is faulty or unresponsive.
- 6 Repair or replace any damaged wiring or connectors in the O2 sensor circuit if an open or short is found.
- 7 Have the Engine Control Module (ECM) tested by a professional if all other causes have been ruled out and the code persists.
