O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage

Powertrain · Alimentación de combustible y aire

Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución

Descripción

This code means the oxygen (O2) sensor is reporting a voltage reading that is too low. This could indicate a problem with the sensor itself or an issue causing the engine to run lean (too much air, not enough fuel).

Causas comunes

  • Faulty oxygen (O2) sensor
  • Vacuum leak in the intake system
  • Exhaust leak before or near the O2 sensor
  • Low fuel pressure
  • Wiring issue to the O2 sensor
  • Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

Síntomas

  • Check Engine Light is on
  • Poor fuel economy
  • Engine may run rough or hesitate
  • Failed emissions test

Pasos de reparación

  1. 1 Check for vacuum leaks in the intake system by visually inspecting hoses, gaskets, and connections for cracks or disconnections.
  2. 2 Inspect the O2 sensor wiring and connector for damage, corrosion, loose pins, or frayed wires, and repair as needed.
  3. 3 Inspect the exhaust system for leaks before or near the O2 sensor, paying close attention to exhaust manifold gaskets and pipe connections.
  4. 4 Check fuel pressure using a fuel pressure gauge to ensure it meets manufacturer specifications; a weak fuel pump or clogged filter can cause low voltage readings.
  5. 5 Replace the upstream (Bank 1, Sensor 1) oxygen sensor if wiring and vacuum/exhaust leaks have been ruled out.
  6. 6 Repair or replace any damaged exhaust components causing leaks near the O2 sensor location.
  7. 7 Have the Engine Control Module (ECM) tested by a professional if all other causes have been eliminated.
