O2 Sensor Slow Response - Rich to Lean Bank 2 Sensor 2
Puedes seguir conduciendo con precaución
Descripción
This code indicates that an oxygen sensor on Bank 2 (the side of the engine opposite cylinder #1) is slow to switch from reading a rich fuel mixture to a lean one. This sensor helps the engine computer fine-tune fuel delivery for that bank.
Causas comunes
- Faulty oxygen sensor (Bank 2, Sensor 2)
- Exhaust leak
- Wiring issue to the oxygen sensor
- Contaminated oxygen sensor
- Problem with the engine control module (ECM)
Síntomas
- Check Engine Light is on
- Reduced fuel economy
- Increased emissions
- Failed emissions test
Pasos de reparación
- 1 Check the wiring and connector to the Bank 2 Sensor 2 oxygen sensor for damage, corrosion, or loose connections and repair as needed.
- 2 Inspect the exhaust system near the Bank 2 Sensor 2 location for leaks, cracks, or loose connections and repair any leaks found.
- 3 Check for contamination on the oxygen sensor caused by oil burning, coolant leaks, or use of silicone-based sealants, and address the underlying cause.
- 4 Clear the diagnostic trouble code and drive the vehicle to see if the code returns, confirming the issue is persistent.
- 5 Replace the Bank 2 Sensor 2 (downstream) oxygen sensor if the wiring and exhaust are in good condition.
- 6 Have the engine control module (ECM) inspected and tested by a professional if the new oxygen sensor does not resolve the code.
